Fledgling Wordsmiths

I have the privilege of working with two groups of young writers at my library. I am continually astounded by their amazing creativity! They grasp subtle elements of plot construction and characterization so easily. Their viewpoints are uniquely fresh and innovative and yet the interaction of our Critique Group both molds and inspires them. They feed off each other, bouncing ideas around the room like a rubber ball. It’s as though the library walls vibrate with expanding synapses – their creative energy crackles and sparks and energizes anyone within hearing distance. Their enthusiasm delights me, sending me off for the rest of my day with this bubbly feeling of well being and pleasure at their exuberance.  I am incredibly lucky to witness the catalyst for their genius – and assist in launching another generation of wordsmiths on the world!
